Project Description
The completion of the Bozeman Sourdough Water Transmission Main Phase by CK May Excavating represents a significant milestone in enhancing the city's water infrastructure. This ambitious project involved the construction of a new 30” DI water transmission main along Sourdough Road, incorporating three tie-ins to existing water mains. Spanning approximately 7,800 feet, the buried DI water piping, fittings, hot taps, valves, fire hydrants, and related improvements were meticulously installed to increase water capacity between the treatment plant and reservoir, ensuring critical redundancy and matching the rated capacity of the plant. The project, extending from Nash Road to Goldenstein Lane, was seamlessly executed by CK May Excavating, utilizing their expertise in roadway milling, water main installation, and associated roadwork to deliver a vital upgrade to Bozeman's water distribution system.
As the contractor for this essential initiative, CK May Excavating navigated the complexities of the project with precision and efficiency. The implementation of roadway closures and traffic diversions, notably along Sourdough Road south of the Triple Tree Trailhead to Nash Road, required meticulous planning and coordination to minimize disruption to residents and ensure the safety of all stakeholders. By seamlessly integrating new infrastructure with existing systems, CK May Excavating has contributed to the resilience and reliability of Bozeman's water supply, laying the groundwork for continued growth and development in the region.
